KRISFLYER INTERNATIONAL SPRINT’S RUNNER & TEAM

  • HOTOTO
  • [Barrier No: 7]
  • Former stakes winner in England before he relocated to the Middle-East in 2013, capturing a 1000m race over the Meydan straight in January. Tried to cement that form in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) but finished down the course, never looking likely to threaten the winner Sole Power. On-pace runner who is best suited travelling in the first half of the field before launching inside last 400m. Looks safely held against such tough opposition.

Fawzi Nass
  • TRAINER:
  • FAWZI NASS (BAH)
Fawzi Nass, 44, is a native of Bahrain where he trains mainly for himself, but also for some other owners. In 2007 Nass bought Aislabie Stud at Stetchworth just outside Newmarket, where he boards around seven of his own mares, and houses permanent boarders for other clients. He also has a few horses in training in the UK but concentrates on Bahrain and Dubai during the period October through to April. Krypton Factor gave him his biggest success when taking out the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen at Meydan in March 2012. KrisFlyer raider Hototo will be the third contender he brings to Singapore following unsuccessful bids with Lahaleeb (2010) in the SIA Cup and Krypton Factor (2012) in the KrisFlyer.
Luke Morris
  • JOCKEY:
  • LUKE MORRIS (UK)
Luke Morris, 26, was born in Oxfordshire and is now based in Newmarket. A graduate of the British Racing School, Morris rode his first winner in 2005, but since then, his career has taken off and he has ridden almost 950 winners to date, with a season’s best in 2014, when he rode 189 winners. Due to his ability to ride at 8st (112 lbs), he is one of the busiest jockeys in the UK. His biggest success to-date was when he rode Gilt Edge Girl to win the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp in 2010, and this remains his sole success at Group 1 level to-date. However he was champion All-Weather jockey in 2010/11 and has been runner-up twice since then before regaining the title last year. Other wins include the Winter Derby at Lingfield in 2014 on Robin Hoods Bay for trainer Ed Vaughan, and his win on Hototo, his KrisFlyer ride and first Singapore ride, at the Carnival at Meydan this year. He rides as a freelance but is in effect first jockey to Newmarket trainer Sir Mark Prescott, but also rides for trainers Marco Botti, James Tate and Paul Cole.
